Exciting news from the Diegueno Counseling Office:
This week your Diegueno student took assessments through the district-wide Thrively program. Our Diegueno counseling staff worked with the History department to assess our entire school. The Thrively program helps students to explore their interests and career aspirations to better prepare them for college and their future career.
7th graders took the Thrively Strengths Assessment. Students answered 80 questions that provided them with a personalized profile. Please take time this week to review your students' top 5 strengths with them. They will be excited to share their results with you. You can also help your 7th grader explore additional areas for personal growth and future opportunities. Each student has access to their results on their school cromebook.
Our 8th grade students took the Thrively Interest Profiler, also known as the RIASEC (Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, Conventional) assessment. Based on John Holland's theory, this valuable tool provides students with potential career pathways based on their interests and preferences within six occupational themes. Ask your 8th grader to login to the Thrively program and show you their potential career pathways. Your student will appreciate the opportunity to talk through their future plans with parents and loved ones.
We love watching our Diegueno students discover their unique strengths and interests. What an incredible group of students we have. The future is bright.
Warmly,
The Diegueno Counseling Team

The Diegueño Counseling Center has an amazing group of PRIDE Peer Tutors who keep our office buzzing during CAT Time each week. These students were nominated by a teacher who recognized their ability to be a strong leader, a compassionate listener, a hardworking student, and someone who displays the Diegueño Cougar P.R.I.D.E expectations: Potential, Responsibility, Integrity, Decision-Making and Empathy.
During CAT time, these students provide academic support, help with time management/organization, serve as ambassadors for our new students, or work to make sure kids are connected on campus.
If your student would benefit from help from one of our amazing PRIDE Peer Tutors, please reach out to the counseling office and let us know that you would like your student to benefit from this resource.
