What to do in the "Family Room" Besides Read?

  • Books on a shelfUse your personal media devices
  • Use the computer for homework or fun
  • Play cards - if you like to play cards come see me for a brand new deck you can keep!
  • Chess - Checkers - Mancala - Uno - Jenga
  • Do Homework (alone or in groups)
  • Collaborate
  • Lean new things from each other
  • Work on class projects
  • Socialize and Lounge around
  • Listen to Mrs. Coy's music - it's the Blues on Mondays and Swing (into the weekend) on Fridays - the rest of the week I play 'your' music!
  • **Clubs are welcome to meet in the back room. Check the schedule for availability!**

The Family Room is OPEN
Monday - Thursday
6:45 a.m. until 3:15 p.m.
Friday until 3:00

Occasionally the Family Room will need to be closed before or after school , or during lunch -  in those cases there will be morning announcements and eblasts.

I welcome Parent Volunteers with open arms!!  This is a chance to contribute some volunteer hours while having fun watching middle schoolers in their element.  The Family Room is a very busy, noisy place during lunch and I can always use an extra hand.  Lunch times vary by the day, so check for available times if you are interested.  Thank you to the cadre of wonderful parents who have volunteered the last four years...
Books We’d Like to Have.  Mrs. Coy keeps a list at the circulation desk or you can reach her at 760.944.1892 x6621.  Thanks so much! I also greatly appreciate donations of gently used books! Click the link above!
School Supplies are available to borrow while you are in the Learning Commons:
Pens - Pencils - Highlighters - Staplers - Tape-Various Types - Glue and Glue Sticks - Hole Punches - Colored Pencils and Markers - Scrap Paper
Lost and Found

Lost and Found

There is a bin next to the printer with assignments that have been left behind in the Learning Commons.
  • Mrs. Coy keeps all un-named notebooks / binders at her desk for a day or so and then sends them to the office. If your name is on it Mrs. Coy will track you down. The same goes for jackets, hatws, phones and personal devices.
  • If a flash drive is left in the Family Room it will be kept at Mrs. Coy's desk until it is claimed.
Textbooks and Laptops are available for checkout for one class period.

Practice / Project Room

  • Does your group need to practice for an upcoming performance (or just for fun)? Mrs. Coy is in the Media Center during your lunch time and she has a vacant back room for your use.
  • Do you need to s p r e a d out to work on a project? I have just the space for you - most supplies included.
